By default, an applicant's email address serves as their initial password, which they can reset after logging in for the first time. However, if you prefer to let users create their own password when submitting an application form, you can add a password field to the booking form by following these steps:
- Navigate to More → Application & Profile Builder
- Use the filters to locate the relevant application form, then click the pencil icon to begin editing.
The password field must be placed within a section. Choose a section that you feel is most appropriate based on your preferences. If no suitable section exists and you wish to create a new one, click here for a guide on how to add a new section to the application form.
Once you have decided a section to add the password field click the "Edit Section Builder" button for that section to begin editing it. Make sure to expand the section to see the edit section builder.
Click on the "Add Field" button and start filling out the information.
Field Label: Specify the label you want displayed on the application form for this field.
Profile Label: If you prefer a different label once the information is stored in the profile, set it here. By default, it matches the label displayed on the application form.
Field Type: Select "Password" as the field type from the dropdown. This step is crucial for proper functionality.
Confirm Password Label: Use this option to customize the label for the second password field, which is used to confirm the entered password matches.
Model: This is a critical field. Ensure the model is set to "password"; otherwise, the field will not work as intended. The field's functionality relies on the correct model. If the "password" model is not available in the dropdown and no duplicate password field exists on the application form, contact us, as the field will not function without the correct model.
Select Other Properties: This field is optional and can be left blank. It includes additional configurations that are not required for this setup.
Once done, make sure to hit the "Save" button. The applicants will now have a field to set a password when submitting an application form.
