While creating an Email/SMS template, after selecting an audience (e.g., Client, Candidate, or Job) and choosing a relevant trigger, you can apply additional filters to refine your audience further. These filters allow you to target a specific group based on various available conditions.
Scroll down to the bottom and click on the button "Add Matching Conditions"
Note: The "Add Matching Condition" button will only appear if there is content in the email template's body. Ensure that both the Subject line and Body are filled out, as they cannot be left blank.
The available matching conditions depend on the audience type selected for the email template. For example, if you choose "Candidate" as the audience, you can select any question from the candidate profile and create a matching condition based on their response.
For example, suppose your candidate application form includes a question asking, "Do you have a car to drive?" with possible answers "Yes" or "No." You want to send a welcome email when candidates reach the Applied status but customize the email content based on their response.
To achieve this, you’ll need to create two separate email templates, both with Candidate as the audience and Status Change Notification (Applied Status) as the trigger. Click here to learn more about email triggers.
Setting Up Matching Conditions:
Once your templates are set up, click the "Add Matching Condition" button.
Select the question "Do you have a car to drive?" as the matching condition.
A new field will appear where you can choose the answer. In this case, select "Yes" for one template.
To send a different email for candidates who don’t have a car, repeat the same process for the second template, but set the matching condition answer to "No." This ensures that candidates receive a relevant email based on their response.
